The majority of the records document the history of the ACP before its merger with the ASIM, as well as the continuing functions of the ACP-ASIM. Types of materials include minutes of committee meetings, publications, financial records, correspondence, and ephemera. Topics covered include medical education, publication of the College's journals Annals of Internal Medicine and ACP-ASIM Observer, the College's Annual Session, public policy and clinical guideline development, physician and patient advocacy, and internal affairs and membership. Records documenting the history of the ASIM before the merger include minutes of the Board of Trustees and House of Delegates, governance and financial documents, Annual Meeting minutes and programs, materials related to public policy and physician and patient advocacy, and issues of and materials related to the publication of The Internist, Today's Internist, and newsletters of state and local component societies.
